"Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering." -Saint Augustine
Looking into the distance, realizing that it's just another test, somewhere there is a person just like you looking into the abyss of nothingness. Is nothing something? When we call someone nothing, what are we really saying? Being called nothing is like being called the world because in the universe, the sea of billions of shining stars, we are nothing. If our world is so big but just a drop in the ocean, then what is nothing? Nothing hurts.
Here are some photos I've taken in 2015. From prom pictures to my cute puppy, I had a lot of fun with these pictures. I tried to get them as large as possible but email if you want to see more (I need inspiration)! Enjoy and let me know what I could improve on. ♥
When I saw these on BethCakes, I couldn't resist but to share with everyone how to make these. Yeah, I know you can't eat them but the smell is just as scrumptious as the taste! Have fun making these cute and great smelling candles. What you need:2 pint-sized (16oz) mason jars Hot glue gun Pre-waxed wicks (get a pack with attachments on the ends) Pencils, pens, or something similar to hold the wicks in place Tape 1-2 tbsp corn syrup 2-3 tbsp water A small paintbrush or cloth 1/2 cup rainbow jimmies (or similar colorful sprinkles) 1 lb soy wax flakes (or old candles if using smaller jars) Cupcake scented wax cubes (Found at Micheal's) Step 1- Jars & WicksSo, you've got the jars and the wicks. Hot glue the wick to the bottom, center of the jar being careful of the hot glue heat. Let them dry before you continue on. Step 2- Starting the MixtureIn a bowl, mix the corn syrup with the water. Using a paint brush or paper towel, coat the inside of the jar with the corn syrup mixture. Holding the jar on it's side, add sprinkles by slowly sprinkling them around using a spoon. Repeat this process until sides are coated almost completely. Step 3- Making the CandleTo keep the wicks up, tape the wick to a pencil or pen and lay it across the opening. Using a double boiler, or a pot and a heat proof bowl (fill half way with water in pot to a simmer and them lay bowl on top) melt the wax flakes and three or four of the scent cubes. Use more scent cubes if you want a stronger smell but beware, it does not take many. Step 4- Pouring CandlesWhen I tried the DIY, this was the part I struggled with the most. You can attempt to pour the wax directly from the bowl but for me, it went everywhere but the jar. Instead, take a measuring cup (1 cup) and pour about two cups into the jar. Step 5- Burrr!BethCakes recommended that you put your candle in immediately in the freezer so they firm up faster and the sprinkles don't fall everywhere. She also suggested putting them in for about 3-4 hours but depending on how cold your freezer/ fridge is, it only took me about two hours. Step 6- Enjoy!Have fun with your now cute, confetti cake candles. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine because I have to admit, I burned about have the wick in one day! Thanks to BethCakes for this awesome recipe.
